Haymarket Museum
The Town of Haymarket has generously offered up the Haymarket Museum for CAA to hang artwork and, every other week, use the space for classes, events and meetings. They receive a portion of all proceeds earned in the space to continue to maintain this historic gem of a building.
Haymarket was established in 1799. Due to its location at the intersection of the Old Carolina Road and North Branch of Dumfries Road, long utilized as trade routes, the town was nicknamed “The Crossroads.” When we learned this little tidbit, we loved Crossroads for the name of our alliance, as it also symbolizes, to us, the intersection of communities and their creative people. After we chose the name, we started to realize that the name is used a lot in this area. Our logo is an adaptation of the map. The Haymarket Museum is located in the old Town Hall, originally built in 1883 as the town’s combined schoolhouse and town hall. Ask us and we might just ring the bell for you!
